The group of microbial diversity and microbiology of extreme environments is devoted to investigate the functional role of microbial diversity in a variety of environments, and different microorganisms, their genes and biomolecules with a special, but not exclusive, focus on extremophiles. A wide range of techniques and procedures are generally applied in our research which includes basic and applied initiatives and a high interest in biotechnology.
